[ET Net News Agency, 21 July 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$157.58 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$22.89 billion, or 14.53% of the market's turnover. There were 826 short-selling stocks. XL2CSOPHYNIX (07709) and BABA-W (09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.98 billion and HK$1.93 billion, or 8.64% and 8.44% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 31.34% and 25.79% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and SMIC (00981) registered HK$1.59 billion and HK$1.18 billion of short sales, accounting for 6.95% and 5.15% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 25.87% and 15.55% of respective stock's turnover.
