[ET Net News Agency, 8 September 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$104.98 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$15.88 billion, or 15.13% of the market's turnover. There were 796 short-selling stocks. XIAOMI-W (01810) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.48 billion and HK$974.64 million, or 9.34% and 6.14% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 51.89% and 25.2% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and YOFC (06869) registered HK$592.42 million and HK$534.28 million of short sales, accounting for 3.73% and 3.36% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 15.27% and 20.55% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W closed down HK$0.66, or 2.4%, to HK$26.84. CSOP HS TECH ended down HK$0.046, or 1.04%, to HK$4.392. TRACKER FUND fell HK$0.08, or 0.31% to HK$25.92. YOFC jumped HK$3.1, or 1.77%, to HK$178.3.
