Wall Street's Wolf" Ackman: In the AI Era, the Fed's Use of Interest Rate Hikes to Curb Inflation Is No Longer Appropriate

ECONCT Communications Agency reported on the 28th that billionaire investor Bill Ackman, known as "Wall Street's Wolf," said that in the era of artificial intelligence (AI), the Federal Reserve's tightening of monetary policy may prove to be a mistake.

Ackman posted on social platform X that AI might be rewriting the rules guiding central banks in responding to inflation, and the Fed's decision to raise interest rates could be an error. He even suggested that the principle of curbing inflation by raising interest rates to suppress demand might no longer be applicable today.

He stated: "What if the old model doesn't apply to the current situation, and the Fed is wrong? I think the Fed may have made a mistake." Ackman believes that while higher interest rates would normally suppress demand, this may not hold true in the AI era. He argues that demand for intelligence and energy will not be affected by higher interest rates, as the return on investment in winning the superintelligence race is nearly infinite. (rc)
