[ET Net News Agency, 16 March 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$143.5
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$27.07 billion, or 18.87% of the market's
turnover. There were 794 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and CSOP HS TECH
(03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$5.55 billion and HK$3.41
billion, or 20.5% and 12.61% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 48.53% and 49.53% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.87 billion and HK$1.31 billion of
short sales, accounting for 6.92% and 4.83% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 32.21% and 17.14% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.32, or 1.24%, to HK$26.04. CSOP HS TECH ended up HK$0.108,
or 2.22%, to HK$4.978. HSCEI ETF rose HK$1.18, or 1.33% to HK$89.88. TENCENT jumped HK$15,
or 2.74%, to HK$562.5.
